I work a lot. I have a day job, my writing, family, writing group, and then the dreaded adulting. Which really, there are days when being a six year old again would be nice.
That being said I get excited about vacations. Mainly because I try to have a few ‘real’ vacations each year. I have a convention here in a few days, on where it feels like the best family reunion ever. But then I have a real vacation heading off to Mexico. I’m super excited, but then I look at all the work I have to do.
And by work I mean writing. I’m waiting for edits on the last book, and the cover so I can get that up, then create a bundled set for them all. I have a new series I’m pounding on trying to get the world building nailed down and struggling with the characters. That is frustrating in that they are being very slippery. I have the Blood War series we are still working on, and writing my fan fiction.
I have enough writing work to keep me busy for months, if not years. And yet – I’m still going to take this vacation and enjoy it. I probably won’t make my 400k word goal this year, too many days I haven’t done as much as I should. But – I’ve done a lot and there is more to come.
